Trauma Treatment in Adults: A comprehensive, evidence-based workshop (FPS-CPD)(face-face)

Trauma can have far-reaching effects. This 6 hour face-face training on the comprehensive treatment of adults impacted by TRAUMA aims to provide GPs and mental health professionals/therapists with evidence-based information about the psychological treatments of trauma-related problems and disorders, and to provide skills training related to trauma-informed and integrative care, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy as applied to trauma. (Note – we talk about EMDR but the course does not involve training in this.)
For GPs, psychologists, mental health and allied health professionals, and counsellors. (Post-graduate students and GP Registrars welcome.)
Accredited by the RACGP as 2.5hrs EA and 3.5 hrs RP, ACRRM and the GPMHSC as Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Continuing Professional Development (FPS-CPD).

On completion of the training, participants will be able to:
(1) Review trauma-related diagnoses, assessment and treatment guidelines.
(2) Differentiate the psychological treatments for trauma-related disorders.
(3) Recommend appropriate psycho-education tools for trauma and its treatment.
(4) Design a comprehensive treatment plan for a patient experiencing PTSD.
(5) Role-play a range of CBT skills utilized in treating trauma.
