What: This 20-hour program has been developed to provide GPs & mental health professionals with an opportunity to learn practical skills in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to manage patients in their everyday practice. Note – an application is currently being made to the GPMHSC for Level 2 accreditation.
IPT focuses on how interpersonal relationships affect the individual and their mental health, with particular focus on issues around grief, conflict & social support. The workshop will be informative & interactive. Working with common couple issues will also be addressed.
Who: GPs seeking FPS mental health accreditation (to claim FPS item numbers 2721 and 2725; applicable to items 170-172), or wanting to upskill or maintain mental health accreditation. And interested mental health professionals.
When: Melbourne Friday 27 – Sunday 29 April; Adelaide Friday 22 – Sunday 24 June, 2018.
To meet the requirement of 20 hours of training (excluding breaks), the hours will be Friday 4-8.30pm; Saturday 8.30-6.00pm; Sunday 8.30-5pm).
Where: South Tce in Adelaide, and Northcote in Melbourne.
